Terms of Use

Effective date: October 22, 2026. Please read these terms before using KitFuse. By using the website, you agree to them.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the KitFuse website at https://kitfuse.site and the photo metadata removal tool it provides (together, the "Service"). If you don't agree with these Terms, please don't use the Service.

2. The Service

KitFuse lets you inspect and remove metadata, such as EXIF, GPS, XMP and IPTC data, from photo files. The Service runs in your web browser. Files you select are processed on your own device and are not uploaded to us. The Service is provided free of charge and does not require an account.

3. Your content

You keep all rights to the photos you process. Because your photos never reach our servers, we do not receive, store or claim any rights to them. You are responsible for keeping your own copies, including the original files.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. In particular, you agree not to:

  • use the Service to remove copyright notices, author credits or rights management information from images you don't own, where doing so would infringe someone's rights or break the law;
  • use the Service to help you harass, stalk or harm anyone, or to conceal evidence of a crime;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the website or its hosting;
  • copy, frame or republish the website's content as your own without permission;
  • use automated means to scrape the website in a way that places an unreasonable load on it.

In some countries, removing copyright management information from a work you don't own is unlawful even if the image is otherwise shared legally. It's your responsibility to make sure you have the right to modify the files you process.

5. No guarantee of anonymity

KitFuse removes hidden metadata from the file. It cannot change what is visible in the image, remove information from copies you've already shared, or control what other services do with your photos. Removing metadata reduces risk but does not guarantee anonymity. You are responsible for deciding what to share and with whom.

6. Accuracy and verification

KitFuse re-scans each cleaned file and shows a Clean badge when no personal metadata is found. We work hard to make this reliable, but file formats are complex and devices sometimes store data in unusual ways. For sensitive situations, we recommend checking the cleaned file with a second method before sharing it.

7. Intellectual property

The KitFuse name, logo, website design, text and code are owned by KitFuse and protected by intellectual property laws. You may link to any page and quote short excerpts with attribution. Any other use requires our written permission.

The Service displays ads provided by Google AdSense and may link to third-party websites. We don't control and aren't responsible for third-party ads, websites, products or services. Your dealings with advertisers are solely between you and them. How ad partners use cookies is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will remove every form of metadata from every file.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KitFuse and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, profits or privacy, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to zero, or to the lowest amount allowed by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the operator of KitFuse is established, without regard to conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep any protections given to you by the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
