Limits of metadata removal
KitFuse removes hidden metadata from photo files on your device. It does not and cannot:
- change or hide anything visible in the image, such as faces, addresses, signs, landmarks or reflections;
- remove metadata from copies of a photo that have already been shared, uploaded or backed up;
- control how websites, apps or recipients process or store your photos;
- guarantee that a photo can't be linked to you by other means.
We test KitFuse against common photo formats and devices, but cameras and apps sometimes store data in unusual ways. Always keep your original files, and double-check cleaned photos when the stakes are high.

Our guides describe how devices, apps and social platforms generally handle photo metadata. This information is based on official documentation and widely reported testing at the time of writing. Companies change their software regularly and without notice, so their current behavior may differ.
